Andy Moles Resigned From NZ Coach

Wellington: New Zealand cricket coach Andy Moles resigned on Saturday, four days after reports emerged that top players had raised concerns about his ability.

New Zealand Cricket confirmed Moles' resignation and said a news conference later Saturday would reveal more details about his departure.

Moles' position has been tenuous since Wednesday when it was first reported senior players had expressed a lack of confidence in his performance.

The 48-year-old Englishman, who succeeded John Bracewell as New Zealand coach last November, was contracted through the 2011 World Cup. He was due to depart with the national team on Tuesday for a One-day series and Twenty20 match against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.
