Highest team scores in Test match in an innings is made by Sri Lanka is 952 for 6 dec against India in August 1997 at Premadasa stadium in Colombo. Sanath Jayasuriya and Roshan Mahanama's 576 partnership helps Sri Lanka to create world records for the biggest total by a test team.
Sri Lanka breaks record 59-year old records of England declared on 903 for 7 against Australia at The Oval, London in 1938 Ashes series. England won the match by an innings and 579 runs, the biggest victory by any team against anyone till date.
Till now Sri Lanka and England only teams scores more than 900 runs in a single innings in Test cricket.
849 by England is the only total in 800s, made in a timeless test match at Sabina Park in Jamaica against West Indies back in April-1930.
