The Indian cricket team toured to South Africa from 5 January to 24 February 2018 to play three Tests, six One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.

Durban not host a Test against India this summer after Cape Town, Centurion and Johannesburg were named as the venues for South Africa's three-match Gandhi-Mandela Test series named Freedom Trophy. Earlier India scheduled to play four Test, three ODIs and three T20Is.

South Africa won the 3-match Test series by 2-1. Superb India clinch first ever ODI series in South Africa and they clinchs six match series by 5-1. Kohli also became the first to score over 500 runs in a bilateral ODI series.India won 3-match T20 series by 2-1.
