The 2019 season of the Indian Premier League, abbreviated as IPL 12 or 2019 VIVO IPL was the twelfth season of the IPL. The Chennai Super Kings was defending champions, having won the 2018 season after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final by eight wickets.

The Vivo IPL 12, 2019 points tally highlights the standing, run rate, wins and loss in the Indian Premier League season-12.

Points was  awarded in the group stage as follows:

  • Win - 2 points,
  • No result - 1 point
  • Loss - 0 points

According to rules, if a match ended with the scores tied, the tie was broken with a one-over-per-side Super Over. After super over still tie then:

  • The team with most number of boundary sixes throughout the entire match wins.
  • If still tie, the team with most number of boundaries throughout the entire match wins.
  • If still tie, the team taking the most wickets throughout the entire match wins.
  • If still tie, a count-back from the final ball of the Super Over eliminator shall be conducted. The team with the higher scoring delivery shall be the winner.
  • If still tie, winner declared by toss.
