The tournament was won by Chennai Super Kings who defeated Mumbai Indians in the final played at Navi Mumbai. The purple cap went to Pragyan Ojha (21 wkt) of Deccan Chargers, while the orange cap and the player of the tournament award was given to Sachin Tendulkar (618 runs) of Mumbai Indians skipper.
It was also the first ever cricket tournament that was broadcast live on YouTube.
