This was Bangladesh's longest T20 series, and used as preparation for the upcoming Asia Cup T20s and World T20.

The BCB's had earlier proposed to include a Test match in this tour, but Zimbabwe were keen only to play T20 matches. It is now likely that Bangladesh will tour Zimbabwe in June or July to play up to three Tests pending from the original series between the two teams in January.
