Harare: Former Zimbabwe cricket captain Heath Streak has been appointed as bowling coach for the national side on Monday.
"We have been talking to Heath for some time," Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Ozias Bvute said Monday.
"We have every confidence that his presence in the changing rooms can only be good for the development of our national team."
The 36-year-old former Warwickshire captain and pace bowler played 65 Test matches and 189 One-Day Internationals for Zimbabwe.
His appointment is part of a restructuring exercise in which former players are being reintegrated into the coaching system in a bid to strengthen the national side.
"I am looking forward to being part of the vision to rebuild Zimbabwe as a powerful cricket playing nation," Streak said.
