Karachi: Star cricketers Younis Khan and Shoaib Akhtar have failed to appear in the ongoing national Twenty20 Championship, thus raising serious doubts over their future.
Younis was scheduled to lead the Abbotabad team in the championship but the former captain didn't show up for the matches here.
The Abbotabad manager said that Younis had just conveyed he was not available at the last moment for the tournament because of personal problems.
"We were expecting him to lead the team as he chose to play for us although he usually plays for the Peshawar side. His not showing up was disappointing for us," the manager said.
The Abbotabad team was knocked out of the competition today after their second straight defeat.
Controversial pacer Shoaib Akhtar also didn't lead the Islamabad team today although he was present in the dressing room.
"Shoaib is not feeling well, so he decided to take a rest but he will definitely play the next match," a team official said.
