England women in West Indies, 2009/10

Windies Host England Women for Three ODI & T20 Series

London: The series will be played at Basseterre, St Kitts and will begin on Wednesday 4 November with the first ODI. It will be the first time England has taken on Merissa Aguilleira's side since it beat the West Indies in the group stage of the ICC Women's World Cup in Sydney, Australia, back in March of this year.

Aguilleira will be hoping her side can improve on its ODI performances after losing the recent series 2-1 (including a tie in the fourth ODI) against South Africa.

However, the West Indies women did secure victory in their T20I series against South Africa and will hope their run of form will continue against the world champion.

England will be without ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year Claire Taylor and wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor who are being rested for the series.

The pair sit in first and second places on the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Women's Player Rankings for batters.

In their absence, Edwards is the highest-ranked batter from either side in seventh place and will be hoping to push up the order along with ninth-placed Caroline Atkins.

West Indies opener Stafanie Taylor is just outside the top 10 after climbing 11 places to 11th spot following a good series against South Africa. A few good knocks against England could well put her inside the top 10 for the first time in her career.

In the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Women's Player Rankings for bowlers, England's Holly Colvin leads the field. Besides Colvin, England boasts Katherine Brunt (fourth), Laura Marsh (sixth), Isa Guha (seventh), Nicky Shaw (eighth) and Jenny Gunn (15) inside the top 20 and they will all be eyeing upward movement.
