England in West Indies, 2008/09, 4th Test, 4th Day

West Indies Eyes to Series Victory, Sarwan 291

Bridgetown: The West Indies score, the ninth highest innings total in a Test match, creates an unlikely final day for the tourists who find themselves batting for survival after making 600 for six declared in their first innings.

Sarwan fell just nine runs short of a triple century, after batting from the evening of the second day, but wicketkeeper Ramdin batted until near the close before he was bowled by Graeme Swann for 166.

Jerome Taylor made a hard-hitting 53 as West Indies had little trouble against a tired and ineffectual England bowling attack.

At ends the day with England trailing by 143. The openers have survived a nasty two-over burst, and it's going to require a lot of discipline from England tomorrow. The 51-all-out isn't far from their minds, but in their favour the pitch is absolutely flat and England really ought to play out the final day quite comfortably.

Brief Score: England 600/6d and 6 for no loss (Cook 0*, Strauss 5*) trail West Indies 749/9d (Sarwan 291, Ramdin 166) by 143 runs.
