Dubai: David Warner and Shane Watson shared a record opening stand as Australia thumped Pakistan by 94 runs in the third Twenty20 international.
Pakistan, chasing 169 for victory, were bowled out for just 74 in the 20th over - their lowest T20 total of all time - in the final match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
The series may have ended 2-1 in favour of Pakistan but the Aussies will still be buoyed by their performance ahead of the ICC World Twenty20, which gets underway in Sri Lanka on September 18.
Warner (59 off 34 balls) and Watson (47 off 32) combined for 111 runs - beating Australia's previous best T20 partnership for any wicket of 108, set by Watson and Mike Hussey against the West Indies in March.
The openers combined for eight sixes off 15 balls at one stage in a remarkable turnaround from Wednesday's opening game, in which Australia were dismissed for 89 and hit no sixes.
Warner, whose innings came to an end in the 11th over, hit six sixes, while Watson, who was dismissed in the 13th over, cleared the boundary five times.
But Pakistan, who won the toss and elected to bowl, fought back in the latter stages of the innings, taking a string of wickets to restrict Australia to 7-168.
Saeed Ajmal (2-19 off four overs) again led the Pakistani bowlers, while Umar Gul (2-30 off four) and Yasir Arafat (2-30 off three) also chipped in.
In reply, only three Pakistanis - Nasir Jamshed (17), Yasir Arafat (15) and Abdul Razzaq (13) - reached double figures with the bat.
Mitchell Starc (3-11 off 3.1) and Pat Cummins (3-15 off four) led the charge for Australia, while Brad Hogg was the most economical with 1-11 off four overs.
The loss was Pakistan's heaviest of all time in terms of runs.
