Warne Criticises Koertzen's Umpiring Blunders

Melbourne: Under-fire Rudi Koertzen has once again come under attack for his umpiring decisions in the on-going Ashes series with the latest to join his detractors list is spin legend Shane Warne, who feels the South African official is having a 'shocker' of a time in England.

Warne took a dig at Koertzen after the South African denied a leg before shout on Ian Bell off Peter Siddle's bowling during the fourth day's play in the third Ashes Test in Birmingham on Sunday.

"It's unfortunate that he's doing this because he's a lovely guy and he conducts himself well but he's having a shocker," Warne said.

"The Siddle decision was out. I don't care if Hawkeye says that's going over the top, it's out," he added.

Koertzen had also handed a reprieve to Bell during the second day of the match when Mitchell Johnson had him trapped in front -- one of the clearest lbw calls of the series -- only to be turned down by the South African.

The veteran South African umpire is having a nightmarish time in the series and has earlier come under sharp criticism, especially from the Australian players and media, for some of his decisions during the second Test at Lord's last month.
