Harare: Zimbabwe win the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh at Harare, with seven wickets in hand. The hosts have doubled their lead in the five match series. Right from the start, Bangladesh was dismal. Vitori ripped apart through the batting line up. He got his second 5-fer and now becomes the 10th bowler to get consecutive five wicket hauls.
Brian Vitori has been named Man of the Match.
Zimbabwe got off to a composed start in their pursuit of Bangladesh's modest 188 on a Harare track that remained good for batting. Although they lost Brendan Taylor early on, an 83-run second-wicket partnership between Vusi Sibanda and Hamilton Masakadza.
Zimbabwe have treated the bustling Sunday crowd to a comprehensive victory, they had wobbled during their chase in the first ODI, but today's pursuit was a lot more clinical. Sibanda leading the way again with an assault in Razzak's first over, and he did not bowl after that. Taibu ensured the chase was smooth without any hassles, but Brian Vitori it was who set up the win with another five-wicket haul.
Earlier, Zimbabwean paceman Brian Vitori's second successive five wicket haul limited Bangladesh to a total of 188 all out in the second of the five match one-day international series on Sunday.
Vitori, who also starred in the one-off Test which the hosts comfortably won on their return to Test cricket after a six year absence, made immediate inroads into the tourists batting as he claimed Imrul Kayes for eight and Timam Iqbal for three on his 100th ODI appearance.
He followed that with Shakib Al Hassan (26), Nazir Hossain, who put together a confident 63 and Abdul Razzak (35).
Al Hassan, Hossain and Razzak at least managed to restore some respectability to the total as the visitors were at one point teetering on 61/6 and in danger of posting a new record for their lowest ever one day total which stands at 92.
Al Hassan and the debutant Hossain took the score along, though, benefitting from some poor Zimbabwean bowling by Prosper Utseya and Chris Mpofu.
Hossain was especially impressive as the 19-year-old looked more like a seasoned campaigner, putting on 53 with Shakib for the seventh wicket and another priceless partnership of 65 for the eighth with Razzak.
