Dhaka: New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori believes the one-day series against Bangladesh will provide his team with the opportunity to acclimatise to conditions for next year's World Cup.
"This is one of best reasons we are here, to experience the conditions for a number of guys who have not been here before," Vettori told a news conference on Wednesday.
"We are lucky enough to be in Sri Lanka, and then we go to India after this series so we get to go to all three host nations before World Cup," he said.
New Zealand's 15-man squad is in Bangladesh for five one-day internationals, which start on Oct. 5.
Vettori singled out Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as the major threat to his side.
"Shakib is probably their best player, so if we can nullify him we know we are going to win the game. He is a very good player, he has proven himself, particularly in these conditions, so he is probably their main player," he said.
