Hyderabad: After a splendid show with the bat in the just concluded IPL 3, talented youngster T Suman wants to cement a berth in the India 'A' team and do well for his Ranji side Hyderabad.
Suman was instrumental in reviving Deccan Chargers' campaign after a string of losses and was the third highest run-getter for his side with 307 runs after Andrew Symonds (429) and Rohit Sharma (404).
"I am happy with my performance in IPL. For the future, I want to get into India 'A' or something like that. I want to do well in the coming Ranji matches," Suman said.
It was his scintillating 78-run knock against Royal Challengers Bangalore that helped the defending champions break a five-match losing streak and Deccan went on to make the semifinals.
The explosive left-hander fondle remembered that knock which fetched him Man-of-the-Match award.
"I cherish the match against Royal Challengers and my knock. We were chasing 184 and defeated Royal Challengers on their home ground," he said.
Suman said he could make a mark only after getting the chance to bat early in the innings.
"I am happy with my performance this season. I feel I improved gradually. In IPL 3, I think I did not get the opportunity to bat at the top. Once I got the opportunity, from the ninth match, I could do well," he said.
Suman's teamate Pragyan Ojha also had a memorable stint at the IPL 3 as he ended as the highest wicket-taker in IPL 3 and said receiving the Purple Cap was special feeling.
The 23-year-old left-arm spinner, who scalped 21 wickets, said sticking to basics without any experimentation helped him do well.
"I was clear in my mind. I was sticking to the basics. I was not trying too many things. I was not putting pressure on me. I just stuck to the basics on the pitches which was helpful," Ojha said.
He said he would cherish most the wickets of Chennai Super Kings Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, seasoned Rahul Dravid of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Dwayne Bravo of Mumbai Indians.
Asked if he was disappointed on missing the plane to the West Indies for the World Cup, he said, "There are ups and downs in life. I would like to do well whenever I get the opportunity," he said.
