Bangladesh v New Zealand, 3rd ODI, Mirpur

Suhrawadi Shuvo Secure Bangladesh 2-0 Lead

Dhaka: Bangladesh complete another one sided affair with a 7 wicket win over hapless New Zealand. The visitors were no match to a strong looking Bangladesh unit which bowled, batted and fielded well. The spinners were bang on target reducing the Kiwis to a total of 173.

Thanks to a brilliant and an aggressive fifty form Taylor who smoked four sixes and three boundaries in his innings. But Shuvo who returned with tremendous figures of 10-2-14-3 was the Man of the match.

Chasing 174, Bangladesh openers set the tone right from the start with a 127-runs stand between Nafees and Kayes who notched up their fifties to ensure Bangladesh to safety. Later it was just a formality as the rest of the batsmen stroked away the winning runs.

Bangladesh lead the series 2-0 and with 2 matches to go they will hope to win the series for the first time against a full member side.

Earlier, Bangladesh's Suhrawadi Shuvo claimed three wickets and Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Mahmudullah took two each to dismiss New Zealand for just 173 runs in the third match of a five-game limited-overs series.

Despite losing seven wickets for only 101 runs at Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Ross Taylor attempted to engineer a New Zealand recovery hitting 62 runs off 72 balls. Taylor's unbeaten knock included three boundaries and four sixes.

Taylor and Kyle Mills added 72 runs in an eighth-wicket partnership before Mills was caught by Rubel Hossain off a Hasan delivery.

Opener Brendon McCullum was out for a duck as he tried to play a Shafiul Islam delivery, but edged through to wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim.

BJ Watling (20) was the second batsman to fall, caught by Zunaed Siddique off Abdur Razzak.

Hossain bowled Nathan McCullum for 2. New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori (9) was caught and bowled by Shuvo (3-14), who then claimed Jesse Ryder for 33 and trapped Shanan Stewart lbw for 14.

Bangladesh captain Hasan (2-45) bowled Grant Elliott for 2 and had Kyle Mills caught by Hossain for 26.

Mohammad Mahmudullah (2-6) took the last two wickets of Tim Southee (0) and Andy McKay (0).
