Cochin: India's fast bowler S Sreesanth, on Tuesday, said that he is looking forward to make it to the Indian team in the forthcoming West Indies tour and the Champions Trophy in South Africa later this year.
"I hope to make a comeback to Team India in the forthcoming West Indies (One-day) tour and also in the Champions Trophy to be held in South Africa (in October)," he said.
"I have recovered from my injury and I am also training. In fact, I have played four or five IPL matches in South Africa," he said.
Sreesanth was speaking to reporters after inaugurating a Regional Cricket Coaching Academy at Mar Athanasious College in Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district.
The Kerala Cricket Association-funded coaching centre is the first ever indoor practice academy with lighting facility in Kerala. It also has a bowling machine for practice.
Sreesanth, who hails from Kothamangalam, said, "This type of facility was not there when I played for Kerala. But the present youngsters are lucky because they have all the facilities here."
TC Mathew, Secretary Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), said KCA has plans to build cricket stadiums in all the 14 districts.
KCA is embarking upon a massive cricket development plan in the state, he said, adding they will also give priority to development of women's cricket in the state.
