New Delhi: With almost non-stop cricket taking its toll on the players, the national selectors are planning to rest some senior players during the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.
According to sources, top stars like captain MS Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan could be rested. In their place, some youngsters are expected to make the trip. Sachin Tendulkar, it has been learnt, may also give the Zimbabwean tri-series a miss.
The triseries (May 28-June 9) also involves Sri Lanka. Later, two T20 Internationals will be held on June 12 and 13 at Harare.
Meanwhile, India will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Bangladesh on June 16th at Dambulla. Defending champions, Sri Lanka, will play hosts to the 10th edition of the Asia Cup to be played from June 15 to 24.
After Asia cup India will play three Test series in Sri Lanka and a tri-series with New Zealand.
