Karachi: With Mohammad Yousuf's availability for a conditioning camp in doubt because of Ramazan festivities, the Pakistani national selectors are in dilemma whether to include him in the final squad for the Champions Trophy in South Africa next month.
Selectors are not sure if Yousuf, who got back to the national fold after severing his ties with unofficial ICL, would attend the conditioning camp, which clashes with the holy month of Ramazan.
Yousuf has stated a number of times in the past that he will not play any cricket during the holy month of Ramazan.
The camp for the Champions Trophy players starts mid September before the team leaves for South Africa .
"The selectors are still not sure what to do because they don't know if Yousuf would be available to attend the conditioning camp as he has not spoken about this to them," one well placed source said.
"They have to select the final 15-member Champions trophy squad by August 22 and obviously before doing so they want to be sure that Yousuf will be part of the conditioning camp which is an important element in the preparations for the tournament," the source said.
"The timing of the tournament itself is not a problem since it begins on the day September 22 when most probably the holy month of Ramazan will end," the source said.
