Kolkata: Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag fell after hitting centuries as India finished the second day at 342 for 5 in the second Test against South Africa.
South Africa might just be happy with the last hour of play on Day 2.
They were made to chase leather for most of the day, but just towards the very end, they managed to pick up 3 wickets to just put up their heads in the game.
But, the day has belonged to the master and his disciple. Sehwag and Tendulkar rode over Kolkata, people just enjoyed their fabulous 249-run stand, each getting to his ton. None of the South African bowlers could hit their lengths and in the end, it took a soft dismissial to break the partnership.
India now lead by 46 runs with 5 wickets in hand. The pitch is still good for batting, so, the Proteas would have to bowl well to get these remaining five wickets as Dhoni is yet to come and the remaining five batsmen are no mug with the bat.
Sachin Tendulkar hit his 47th century, fourth Test hundred in a row.
The Sehwag storm struck South Africa with full force and pretty much blew everything in its way -- he scored his 13th 150-plus score. Amid the mayhem, it was easy to forget the cool, pleasant breeze that Sachin Tendulkar's 92nd international century was - his fourth in four Tests. Once the two quietened, South Africa struck back with three wickets to restore a semblance of a contest in the match.
