Mohali: Openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, who sustained injuries during India's third ODI against Australia, are likely to play the fourth ODI in Mohali later in the day.
Both Sehwag and Gambhir underwent fitness test at the Sector 16 stadium in Mohali on Monday and the Indian coach Gary Kirsten would likely to allow both the players to play the fourth One-dayer.
Wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik was on Sunday called in to cover for Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir by the Indian board.
India won the third ODI against Australia by six wickets but Sehwag and Gambhir picked up injuries and whether they play in the fourth One-dayer in Mohali remained doubtful.
Sehwag was hit on his foot by a Peter Siddle yorker in the eighth over which had him in pain, needing the physio's attention.
Gambhir, on the other hand, was struck on the neck by a Ricky Ponting pull. The opener didn't field for the rest of Australia's innings.
