Gwalior/Mumbai: Just when the cricket-crazy nation was going ga-ga over Tendulkar's incredible feat, his wife Anjali was greeted with a sweet surprise from the master over the phone. "Yes, he called me soon after his knock. It was so sweet of him," she told TOI on Wednesday evening.
In fact, it was a stressful day for Anjali - her children Sara and Arjun have their school exams, and calls kept her occupied throughout.
"The kids have their exams tomorrow. Sara has been studying the whole evening and Arjun also has his classes in the evening and then the calls and messages," she explained.
On Sachin's knock, Anjali said: "He somehow continues to surprise us all." Late in the evening Anjali was more busy readying their children for the next day. "Putting Arjun to sleep seemed much harder than asking Sachin to score a century," she said. 'By how many runs did India win?' was Arjun's question even as his mother forced him to bed.
"I wish I could watch the entire match, but I couldn't as I was studying for my exams!" lamented Arjun. "But whatever we could see in between was super fun. I am very happy, very excited."
