London: Scotland have made just one change to the squad that took on Ireland on August 22, for their upcoming ODI against Australia on August 28 at Citylets Grange; batsman Navdeep Poonia has been left out. The team will be led by Gavin Hamilton, who is one of four players - Fraser Watts, Ryan Watson and Majid Haq being the other three - to have played the previous ODI between the two sides, in the ICC World Cup in 2007. Scotland have played seven ODIs this year, winning just one and losing five.
Commenting on the squad, head coach Peter Steindl said: "The players selected are all looking forward to the game immensely; it does not get any bigger than playing the world champions in front of a large home crowd. The Australians will be looking for a stern test ahead of the England T20s and ODIs and will certainly not be taking us lightly."
For Australia, Michael Hussey, Nathan Bracken, Shane Watson and captain Michael Clarke are the players who've had the experience of playing Scotland in an ODI.
Squad: Gavin Hamilton (capt), Fraser Watts, Qasim Sheikh, Ryan Watson, Neil McCallum, Richie Berrington, Marc Petrie (wk), Majid Haq, Ross Lyons, Gordon Drummond, Gordon Goudie and Dewald Nel.
