Sydney: Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat against Australia in the second one-day international at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.
The unchanged Sri Lankans, who pulled off an astonishing one-wicket victory over the Australians in Melbourne on Wednesday, are bidding to claim their first series win in Australia with a victory.
Ricky Ponting returns to lead the Australians, who are striving to break a run of six international defeats in all forms of cricket going back to July.
Ponting, who missed Wednesday's ODI to attend a family funeral, replaces injured Shaun Marsh, while Nathan Hauritz takes over from fellow spinner Xavier Doherty and Clint McKay comes in for fast bowler John Hastings.
