Mumbai: Wicket keeper batsman Parthiv Patel would lead a 15-member Indian squad at the Emerging Players Tournament to be played at Brisbane in Australia from August 8-20.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who led India A recently in England, was named as Patel's deputy by the senior national selection committee that met today at Chennai to pick the squad, a media release from Cricket Board secretary N Srinivasan said on Tuesday.
New Zealand, South Africa and the hosts outfit would take part in the tournament consisting of T20 and 50-over ties, as per the schedule released along with the team.
The squad: Parthiv Patel (capt & wk), Cheteshwar Pujara (vice-capt), Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Sourav Tiwary, Kedar Jadhav, Naman Ojha, Abhinav Mukund, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, R Vinay Kumar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaskaran Singh, Piyush Chawla and R Ashwin.
