Auckland: Pakistan made an unimpressive start to their tour of New Zealand, losing by five wickets to Auckland province in a Twenty20 warm-up match.
After losing two wickets in the opening over, Pakistan were bowled out for only 90 in 17.5 overs, Umar Gul top-scoring with 19. Younis Khan made 18 and Abdul Razzaq 16.
Auckland reached the winning target in only 13.2 overs, led by New Zealand opening batsman Martin Guptill who made an unbeaten 28. Saeed Akmal took 2/20 and Shoaib Akhtar 2/31.
Pakistan meet New Zealand in the first of three Twenty20 internationals in Auckland on Sunday.
