Fatullah: Pakistan won the toss and chose to field in a World Cup warm-up game against England on Friday at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium.
The match is both teams' final practice before the World Cup begins.
England badly needs some momentum after being trounced by Australia 6-1 in a recent one-day series and scraping a narrow victory over Canada in its first warm-up on Wednesday.
England included fast bowler Tim Bresnan, who has been injured, and batsman Ravi Bopara in the starting XI.
Pakistan called up 35-year-old fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and Wahab Riaz, who a team official said earlier on Friday had both been fined for breaking a curfew, but left out captain Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul and Abdul Razzaq.
England beat Pakistan 3-2 in a one-day home series last year that was marred by sour relations between the two sides.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt made a statement, later withdrawn, linking England to possible match fixing, angering many in the home side. After that, Jonathan Trott and Wahab Riaz had an altercation in the nets before the penultimate match in the series.
Pakistan easily beat tournament co-hosts Bangladesh in its first practice match on Tuesday.
