Napier: The injury-prone Oram was a late withdrawal for the first drawn Test and he will now prepare for the Twenty20 games and five One-Day Internationals to be played after the second Test, the New Zealand team management said.
Discarded fast bowler Chris Martin will be brought in as cover for all-rounder James Franklin, who suffered a heavy knock to his ribs while batting in the rain-disrupted first Test in Dunedin.
Ross Taylor, the New Zealand batsman, is in doubt for the second Test against West Indies in Napier starting on Friday after dislocating his right ring finger while fielding in Dunedin. Taylor chipped off part of the bone when dropping Brendan Nash in the slips on Sunday and left the field.
Both Fulton and Martin were dropped from the side to face West Indies at home, after disappointing performances in the two-Test series against Australia late last month. While Fulton played in just the second match at Adelaide where he managed a total of 36 in both innings, Martin picked up six wickets at 36.83 in both games.
