New Zealand Cricket in no Hurry to Replace Andy Moles

Abu Dhabi: On the eve of the ODI series against Pakistan here, New Zealand Cricket has indicated that it is in no hurry to fill the gap left open after the exit of coach, Andy Moles.

Captain Daniel Vettori will be in charge when the squad flies out for Dubai on Monday to play three one-day internationals on November 3, 6 and 9, and two Twenty20 internationals on November 12 and 13, in a series which was relocated to the United Arab Emirates over security fears.

While, NZC chief executive Justin Vaughan said National selector Mark Greatbatch, will accompany the team, would most likely "get his hands dirty" in the nets.

Vaughan further said that New Zealand board will consider possible replacements in the coming months.

"We would like some certainty over the role by the time we get to late January, or early February (when Bangladesh arrive)," The New Zealand Herald quoted Vaughan, as saying.

"It would be great to have someone in place by then, but at least having some certainty by then is important," he added.

When asked about John Wright as an ideal long-term head coach, Vaughan said: "We need to be careful around John. He has not said to me 'I want to do this job'. He wants to understand whether he could make a contribution."

"We all want to get the best out of John, all want the best for the Black Caps and want the best support for Daniel. I'm not sure if all those three lines intersect," he added.
