Australia won by 7 wickets (with 52 balls remaining) |
New Delhi: New South Wales, the champions of Australia's Big Bash, were the first team from Group B to secure passage, with points carried forward, to the second round of the Champions League.
New South Wales Blues have defeated the Sussex Sharks by 35 runs. They have now won their second successive match of the Champions League Twenty20. With that, they progress to the next round of the tournament.
The Sussex Sharks were completely outplayed by a top-class bowling side on a wicket that was difficult to bat on from the start of the match.
Chasing 131 was never going to be easy against a hostile bowling attack. Lee and Bollinger were economical from the start and Henriques continued his good run of form throughout the day, by picking up three wickets. 4 wickets fell in 10 balls in the middle of the innings and the Sharks always found it tough to recover from there.
Moises Henriques is named Man of the Match for his half century and three wickets.

Sussex: 95 for 8 (Henriques 3-23)
Result: New South Wales won by 35 runs
