Mumbai: Off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan may miss Sri Lanka's two Twenty20 Internationals against India next week due to a finger injury on his bowling hand.
The world record holder for most wickets in Test and One-day cricket told reporters he suffered the injury while playing soccer following the second day's play of the third Test.
India won the final Test on Sunday by an innings and 24 runs to clinch the three-match series 2-0 and secure the top spot in the Test rankings for the first time.
"It will take a few days to recover," he told reporters.
"I am not sure whether I will be fit for the Twenty20s, but I should be okay for the one-dayers." The two Twenty20 matches will be played on Wednesday in Nagpur and on Saturday in Mohali. The One-day series starts on December 15.
