Karachi: Misbah-ul-Haq has stepped down as Pakistan's Twenty20 captain. PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf, speaking at the same press conference, said that Mohammad Hafeez will take over as captain from Misbah.
Misbah had captained Pakistan in eight games. His last Twenty20 assignment was the three-match series against England in the UAE in February, which England won 2-1.
Fast bowler Mohammad Sami makes a return in the all three squad for the Sri Lanka tour.
The three squads include several new faces: Shakeel Ansar, Haris Sohail and Raza Hasan come into the Twenty20 squad, Rahat Ali is in the ODI squad, and Afaq Raheem and Mohammad Ayub are in for the Tests.
Wahab Riaz is the big omission from the ODI squad, while Shoaib Malik, Ahmed Shahzad, Yasir Arafat and Khalid Latif all earn recalls.
Pakistan will play two Twenty20s, five ODIs and three Tests between June 1 and July 12 in Sri Lanka.
