Joyce Bonwick Dies Aged 96

Merbourne: Cricket Australia offers its condolences to the family and friends of Joyce Bonwick OAM, formerly Joyce Brewer, who represented Australia in two Test matches in 1934/35.

Mrs Bonwick, a right-hander, had scores of 34, 9, 26 and 31 in her two games for her country as Australian women’s Test cap number 12.

CA has learned that she died in Queensland in late June.

She played for Queensland between 1934 and 1939, continued in the game until the late 1940s and also offered lengthy service in sports administration at the Queensland Women’s Athletics Association.

She was awarded an OAM for her services to sports administration.
