Mumbai: Hyderabad, home of the IPL 2009 Champions Deccan Chargers, would not host any IPL matches in 2010 because of the political turmoil caused by a Separatist Party, demanding for separate statehood for Telangana region.
Sundar Raman, the COO of the Indian Premier League, told the Times of India that no IPL matches would be played at Hyderabad this year,
"It is confirmed that all the matches will be shifted out from there," Raman said.
Mumbai's DY Patil stadium would host the tournament opener on March 12 which was earlier scheduled to be held in Hyderabad.
Two matches have been allocated for Visakhapatnam but the venue for the remaining 4 matches is yet to be decided.
