Karachi: Pakistan has managed to get a "good deal" in the International Cricket Council's post-2012 Future Tours Program due to India's backing, says PCB Chief Operating Officer Wasim Bari.
Bari said the PCB feared that Pakistan might be allocated lesser matches in the next FTP due to the volatile security situation in the country.
"I must say the ICC and member nations including India have been very supportive and understanding of the situation Pakistan cricket is facing now," Bari said.
Bari attended the chief executives meeting in Dubai recently where the FTP was discussed. The FTP will now be deliberated upon by the executive board of the ICC.
"The good thing is that the suggestion to have the top four or five teams play more against each other in the FTP have not been accepted. The other positive thing is that the member countries have given Pakistan matches in the FTP despite the security situation in the country," the former Test captain said.
Bari said series have been scheduled in Pakistan but whether they are played in the country or at neutral venues when the time comes would depend solely on the security situation.
"We are satisfied with the outcome of the discussions on the FTP because it is important that we have series with India and also with other sides on a regular basis even at neutral venues," Bari stated.
