Chennai: Eight members of a 15-strong Indian team, including captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, on Sunday left for Colombo to participate in the Asia Cup starting June 15.
Eight cricketers, who had assembled for a two-day camp ahead of tournament, flew to the Lankan capital.
Suresh Raina and six other Indian cricketers, who are currently on a tour of Zimbabwe, will fly directly to Colombo after completing their Twenty20 engagements against the hosts.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Ashok Dinda and Pragyan Ojha, who are presently on national duty in Zimbabwe, are the other cricketers in Zimbabwe right now.
India will take on Bangladesh in their opening match of the event on June 16, followed by a match against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 19.
