India Names Preliminary Squad for World Cup 2011

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named a 30-man preliminary squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 on Saturday.

At its meeting in Mumbai, the national selection panel named three wicketkeepers as a back-up for skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The squad features all the players who have been part of the ODI mix for the last couple of years.

Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara has also been named alongwith Mumbai's Ajinkya Rahane as the only two uncapped players in the squad.

The final date for submission of squad of 15 for Cricket World Cup 2011 is 19 January.

Preliminary squad: MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, S Sreesanth, Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma, Vinay Kumar, M Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane, Saurabh Tiwary, Yusuf Pathan, Parthiv Patel, R Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha, Dinesh Karthik, Shikhar Dhawan, Amit Mishra, Piyush Chawla, Cheteshwar Pujara, Pragyan Ojha, Praveen Kumar.
