Ranchi: B Sandeep hit a strokeful unbeaten 130 and starred in two crucial 100-run partnerships to help Hyderabad rattle up 349 for five in reply to Jharkhand's first innings score of 200 on the second day of their plate Ranji trophy match on Thursday.
Resuming at their overnight score of 50 for no loss, the visitors found themselves on a sticky wicket losing four quick wickets for 117 before Sandeep bailed them out as he took the sting out of the host bowling with 24 beautifully executed boundaries.
He stitched a hundred-run partnership for the 5th wicket with Ahmed Quadry (50) and another unbroken 6th wicket partnership of 100 with Ibrahim Khalil (47 not out) when stumps were drawn for the day.
Earlier in the morning, Kuldeep Sharma (3/50) threatened to run through the Hyderbad innings but did not get much support from the other end.
Hyderabad opened up a big 149-run first innings lead with five wickets and two days in hand to ignite hopes of a win after their sloppy performance against Rajasthan in the previous match.
