Hamilton: At stumps on first day of the only Test Match between Bangladesh and New Zealand, Kiwis scores 258/5 in 68.1 overs.
Bangladesh started superbly by dismissing the Kiwis to 73/3 at Lunch. First to go, was Tim McIntosh(7) who was caught in the slips by Imrul Kayes off Shafiul Islam. After adding just 40-runs for the second wicket, Bradley Watling(13) fell to Rubel Hossain giving a simple catch to Zunaeed Siddiqque.
Just before Lunch, debutant Peter Ingram (42) played a rash shot to Rubel Hossain and was caught by Shahadat Hossain. At one stage, Kiwis were 66 for three and were looking in deep trouble.
After Lunch, Ross Taylor (40) and Martin Guptill came together and added 60-runs for the 4th wicket. But, Ross Taylor then knicked one of the deliveries off Rubel Hossain (3-86) to the wicket keeper.
Daniel Vettori(10) also fell cheaply and was bowled by Shakib Al Hasan, after adding 30-runs for the 5th wicket. McCullum, who is playing his 50th Test joined Guptill (80) and shared an unbroken partnership of 100-runs when bad light stopped play.
McCullum was unbeaten on 58. Shakib Al Hasan bowled a very tight line and length and ended the day with figures of 1-34 in 20 overs. But the top performer with the ball was Rubel Hossain, who bowled a hostile spell of seam bowling.
