Meerut: An under-19 cricketer, Gagandeep Singh, was shot dead in a Meerut hotel on Friday night by an unidentified gunman.
The cricketer had been in the city for the CK Nayudu cricket tournament and had gone to a hotel with his friends, where unidentified gunmen opened fire in the hotel premises after a verbal altercation with the hotel owner.
A bullet accidentally hit Gagandeep killing him on the spot.
The Punjab player had recently toured Australia with the Under-19 Indian team. He had also played for IPL team of Kings XI Punjab in 2008.
