Melbourne: Fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has been ruled of Australia's one-day matches in the British Isles with an infected elbow, Cricket Australia said on Thursday.
Australia are due to play a one-day international against Ireland in Dublin on June 17 and five one-day matches against England in England from June 22 until July 3.
Johnson, who first complained of the infection during the Twenty20 World Cup in the Caribbean, will be replaced by New South Wales teenage pace bowler Josh Hazelwood.
Australia team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said in a statement the infection had "flared up" again and Johnson needed specialist medical management.
"As such he's been ruled out of the six (one-day internationals) against Ireland and England," Kountouris said.
It was hoped Johnson would be available for the two Twenty20 internationals and two-test series against Pakistan in England, which begin on July 5, Kountouris added.
