Christchurch: Pakistan registered a convincing six-wicket win over Papua New Guinea in Palmerston North in the U-19 World Cup on Monday, according to reports.
PNG opted to bat and were skittled out for 99 in 37.3 overs. In reply, Pakistan reached the target with 191 balls to spare. England topped their group with a facile win over Afghanistan, by nine wickets in Christchurch. Afghanistan were bowled out for 126 in 47.2 overs while England rounded up the match in 25.5 overs.
In the other matches, the South Africans overwhelmed US by eight wickets in Queenstown. US were dismissed for 163 in 49.5 overs and the chase was an easy one. Meanwhile, Canada proved no match for Sri Lanka in Lincoln, where they were all out for 142 chasing a target of 277.
