New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils who finish at the bottom of the pile. A heavy downpour forced the game to be abandoned after Delhi struggled to reach 56 for 3 after 10.1 overs against Pune Warriors.
A total of 61 balls were bowled in an inconsequential match between the Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors before heavy rain and gusty winds sent the players scurrying back into the dressing room from which they never emerged.
It was a contest to decide which side will walk home with the wooden spoon as the 9th and 10th placed sides in IPL 4 went at it at the Ferozeshah Kotla on Saturday.
The dismal display that the Daredevils have put up this season, not one Delhiite present at the Kotla would have minded rain washing away this encounter.
The Delhi side was heading for another embarrassing display at 56/3 before the heavens opened up.
The wash-out meant the Daredevils finished dead-last in the points tally with just four wins from their 14 games while newcomers Pune only finished ahead of them because of a marginally better run-rate.
