Mumbai: A short camp of two or three days duration would be held for Indian probables ahead of the two-Test series against Australia commencing October 1, Cricket Board sources said on Tuesday.
"The probables would undergo a 2-3 day camp. The venue and other details would be worked out soon," the sources said, virtually scotching speculation that Dharamsala is its likely venue.
"For logistical reasons we cannot hold the camp there," they said.
The Aussies are scheduled to arrive ten days ahead of the commencement of the series, indicating how serious they are in confronting the hosts who have maintained their standing as the number one ranked team in the world.
Ricky Ponting and his men are slated to reach Delhi on September 21. They would have a four-day practise session that would be followed by a three-day warm-up game in Chandigarh from September 25-27.
After three more days of rest and practice, the Aussies would plunge into the Test series with the October 1-5 opener scheduled to be held at Mohali. The second Test is to be held at Bangalore from October 9-13.
The visitors are also scheduled to play three ODIs, at Kochi, Vishakhapatnam and Goa, before winding up their visit.
