Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore have won by 8 wickets and that Delhi Daredevils and RCB it are out of the tournament. Bangalore were already eliminated after Cape Cobras defeated Victorian Bushrangers earlier in the day.
Defending 139 was never going to be easy on a batting wicket and Delhi needed to do something spectacular to win.
However, McGrath and Mishra were hit for plenty as Ross Taylor took over the mantle from JP Duminy to become the highest scorer of the tournament. He scored 65 in quick-time. Mishra went for 59 in his 4 overs.
Dravid played the role of sheet anchor to perfection, while Kohli's cameo helped finished things off with 29 balls to spare. Ross Taylor has been named Man of the Match for his majestic knock of 65 runs from just 38 balls. And so it has been decided. Cape Cobras and Victorian Bushrangers, the two teams who faced off earlier today, become the first two teams to seal themselves a spot in the final of the Champions League. Delhi's match against the Cobras on Monday will be of no consequence.
Earlier, Delhi have managed a competitive total of 138-6 after 20 overs. After starting off well, Delhi lost the plot once Virender Sehwag was dismissed.
Birthday-boy Anil Kumble was the pick of the bowlers as he and Roelof van der Merwe managed to put the brakes on Delhi's scoring rate. None of the other Delhi batsmen looked comfortable at the crease as the Bangalore bowlers bowled to a disciplined line and limited the boundaries during the second-half of the innings.
