Australia Struggle In India Tour Match

Hyderabad: Walking the talk proved difficult for Australia on the second day of their tour opener against Board President's XI.

Having struggled for the better part of the morning session before the President's XI first innings terminated at 455 some 12 minutes before lunch on Friday, the Aussies showed little of the patience they talked about so much if they are to successfully counter Indian conditions and lost wickets at regular intervals to be 191 for four, 264 runs in arrears.

Had it not been for Miachael Hussey and wicketkeeper Brad Haddin, who spared the visiting side the blushes with their unbroken fifth-wicket stand at 63 runs, Australia probably would have had much less than they managed. In the morning, the seventh-wicket pair of Parthiv Patel and Irfan Pathan denied Australia success for 6.5 overs into the day, taking stand to 75. Parthiv went on to score 62 while Irfan went for 56 including 8 boundaries.

Brief Score: Australians 191 for 4 (Hussey 54) trail Board President's XI 455 (Sharma 105, Kohli 105, Patel 62, Pathan 56, Johnson 4-75) by 264 runs

Bryce McGain to return home
Australian leggie Mcgain is being sent home as he is unlikely to recover from the soulder injury he sustained during Australia A match in Bangalore last month. According to a Cricket Australia (CA) release on the second of Aussie's tour game against IBP XI here on Friday, physio Alex Kountouris said the decision to send him home was taken since he would not be able to bowl for the majority of the tour.
