Anil Kumble May Be Retire After Aussie Series

New Delhi: A day after India’s most successful captain Sourav Ganguly announced he'll retire after the series against Australia, team captain Anil Kumble too has indicated that this might be his last series.

In a column published in Hindustan Times, Kumble wrote, "There would also be some hours left before I walk onto the field with an Australian captain in front of my home crowd in Bangalore one last time. I cannot speak for the other three but I know that for me, as for Sourav, this will be a last chance to beat Australia, to show that we can finally land that knockout punch, after coming so close, so often, over the last seven years".

With this, speculation has begun over whether these developments will force the hand of others who face intense scrutiny? Will they start thinking of their exit plans too?

The national selectors have named the squad only for the first two tests and Ganguly's exit has started an inevitable process, where the young and brash will take over the reigns from men who set standards that will be hard to match
