Aga Replaces Waters in Kenya Squad For Zimbabwe

Nairobi: Kenya cricket selectors on Friday recalled seamer Ragheb Aga to replace opening batsman Seren Waters for this month's tour of Zimbabwe, officials said.

The 25-year-old Sussex player, who served as the team captain for two months in October and November 2004 has joined the touring side in Nairobi for training practice ahead of Monday's departure to Harare.

Kenya plays Zimbabwe in the ICC Intercontinental Cup game at the Kwekwe sports club on October 7-10 after which the two sides will play five limited overs internationals at the Harare Sports club.

Waters, who his maiden century when Kenya thrashed Canada by 247 runs in Toronto in August to move into second spot behind Scotland in the Intercontinental Cup series, is unavailable because he has left the country to pursue his studies in England.

The 19-year-old, who has British and Kenyan nationality, has been awarded an emerging player contract to play for the Surrey county cricket team after winning the second XI championship title in September.

The Zimbabwe series will prove to a big test for new coach Eldine Baptiste as the former West Indies all-rounder, who took charge of Kenya only three weeks ago seeks to restore the country's lost glory.

Zimbabwe, which is fielding their "A" team led by former Test captain Tatenda Taibu in the first class tournament has a 25-point lead over Kenya in the ODI rankings.
