Ayr: Afghanistan went to the top of the ICC Intercontinental Cup table with a resounding 229-run victory over Scotland on Saturday.
Pacebowler Hamid Hassan took five wickets for 114 runs as Scotland, set an improbable target of 546, were bowled out for 316 in their second innings on the fourth and final day.
Scotland were struggling in this match after making just 139, with Hassan taking six for 40, in reply to Afghanistan's first innings 435.
Ewan Chalmers made 67 in Scotland's second innings their best individual score of the match but that was as nothing compared to Afghanistan hundreds from Samiullah Shenwari and Mohammad Shahzad.
