India 367 (Pant 92, Rahane 80, Shaw 70, Holder 5-56) and 75/0 (PP Shaw 33*, KL Rahul 33*) beat West Indies 311 (Chase 106, Holder 52, Umesh 6-88, Kuldeep 3-85) and 127 (Umesh 4-45, Jadeja 3-12) by ten wickets
Hyderabad: All-round India thrashed West Indies to win the second Test and seal the series by a 2-0 margin.
India won the match inside three days yet again.
West Indies showed character in their first innings (311), and dismissed India for 367.
India lost the last 6 wickets for just 53 runs.
West Indies then batted poorly to surrender the Test.
India need 72 runs in the fourth innings to seal the series 2-0. They have 16 overs and a possible extra half hour on the third evening to make sure they consign West Indies to their fourth straight three-day defeat in India.
West Indies' last four wickets added 51 to their lead of 20 at tea with spinners doing most of the damage in the final session.
However, Virat Kohli asked Umesh Yadav to come back with only the last wicket standing. Umesh was one wicket away from his maiden 10-for and only the fourth by an Indian fast bowler in India. He took only one ball to clean Shannon Gabriel up. He becomes third Indian seamers picked up ten wickets after Javagal Srinath and Kapil Dev.
He is only the third pacer to clinch a fifer in a Test innings by an Indian bowler at home in the last 5 years after Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Earlier, Holder had led the West Indies fightback, bowling out India for 367 and limiting the hosts' first innings lead to 56.
But the visitors were hit hard early in their second innings with openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Kieran Powell returning to the pavilion without scoring.
Yadav, who returned career-best figures of 6-88 in West Indies' first innings total of 311, got Brathwaite on the second delivery of the innings.
Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer offered some resistence during their 39-run third-wicket stand before left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav ended the partnership.
Kuldeep Yadav got Hetmyer out for 17 and Hope was done in by Ravindra Jadeja's left-arm spin after a well-made 28.
